There are two different lighting areas, with one being a strip that runs around the outside of the keyboard, and has multi-color changing LED light pattern presets that can be changed via keyboard commands. The other light is white in color and located beneath the keys, which also has a few presets such as a breathing effect. The keys themselves are remarkably responsive and crisp; a real night and day difference from my last keyboard. It's also nice that it's made of aluminum which means it should last a good long while.
